Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. Dental Surgeries

Mill Hill Dentist Dental Practice

8 Mill Way, London NW7 3RE, UK – 020 8959 1208

My family has been seeing Dr. Ross for almost 20 years. He offers excellent service and advice. Over the years we have had a variety of services including whitening, dentures and pulled teeth in addition to the normal checkups and it has always been of a very high standard. We would highly recommend this practice for all dental care needs.

I have used this dentist for more years than I care to remember. I am always extremely satisfied with the outcome. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND HIM to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Ecladent Dentist Mill Hill

53 Brockenhurst Gardens, Mill Hill, London, Edgware, Greater London NW7 2JY, UK – 020 8959 9392

Went here yesterday because my dentist wouldn't remove my wisdom tooth which was causing me extreme pain. I was seen and it was removed within the hour. The dentist was friendly and put me at ease and gave me all the appropriate aftercare information. Would definitely recommend. I'm at home now healing up nicely.

Because of previously having my concerns ignored or overlooked I developed a fear of going to dentists. Last night I was in agony and no pain-killer was touching the pain, so I called Ecladent and headed there straight away. The pain was so severe I was in tears but Prateek was incredible! He was so professional and explained everything to me thoroughly. My tooth extraction was over in a matter of seconds and I'm in no pain at all today. I booked a full check up on the spot where we'll discuss what steps to take next and I know I'm in great hands so I'm looking forward to it. Thank you so much for everything!

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital

Brockley Hill, Stanmore HA7 4LP, UK – 020 8954 2300

This hospital may not look modern or special from the outside, however the staff and the care they all give is exceptional. I stayed at the Duke of Gloucester ward, but didn't really need to stay the night because we don't live too far so we got to go home. All the staff were friendly and caring and so were all the doctors and surgeons. They were quick and professional and worked to high standards! An experience I'll never forgot!

Every staff member from switchboard onwards was very friendly and efficient. Cannot praise the hospital enough for how they have helped my son. After months of being batted from one medical institution to another, as soon as we were referred to Stanmore, things happened easily and quickly.

Chase Lodge Hospital

Page St, Mill Hill, London NW7 2ED, UK – 020 8358 7100

Never used this local private facility before but used their travel clinic for last minute jabs as my NHS GP were fully booked weeks in advance. I received excellent care from Vicky the nurse who did my jabs and was very thorough with travel advice . The pharmacist was excellent and went over and above to give me precise aftercare regarding my jabs. Reception staff friendly and polite . Very postive experience and I would both use and recommend this practice. Sometimes you really do get better service privately.

Professional and courteous staff. Would recommend.

Excellent care, can't be any better. Midwifes honestly care, they are very knowledgeable, nice and supportive.

I was born here, although it may not have been this building, as it was many years ago. So all in all I'd say I quite like the place :) Let's see if I ever have opportunity to be here and remember what's going on (although, preferably there'll be enough drugs to not have to remember :)

Great place to get rid of your green waste!

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Nursery and Preschools

Boys & Girls Nursery Stanmore

Cottrell Cottages, 57-65 The Broadway, Stanmore HA7 4DJ, UK – 020 8954 3599

Fantastic nursery with great facilities. Both of my daughters attend this nursery and have done since they were one years old. Even though we have moved further away, we continued to keep our girls here as they are both very happy there. In my opinion the nursery is very good in all aspects. They are very caring and friendly. They prepare fresh food at lunchtime and promote healthy eating. We have a parents evening every 6 months and we are given a very thorough report of our childrens developments. I would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a place for their child. We looked at many different nurseries before deciding on this one. They have 4 different rooms ranging from the baby room upto preschool. I think this is much better than those with one room where all the kids are placed together as they are prepared for school life a lot earlier with moving rooms every year or earlier. They have a lovely outside space for the children to play and get some fresh air. We drop our little ones off at 8am and they can stay till 6pm but we normally pick them up around 4.30pm. They also let you drop your kids off from 7am if you need this. It's good to arrive early so you can get a good parking space, even if you don't, most parents are gone within a few minutes so you won't have to wait too long. If you are reading this review, I hope it has helped you to decide. I would say go for it, you will be glad you did.

Our daughter has been attending the nursery since she was about 4 months old and it has been excellent all round. Staff are extremely friendly, caring and efficient. There is a lovely warm atmosphere, good facilities and our daughter has been very happy.

St Paul's Preschool

St Paul's Church Hall, The Ridgeway, Mill Hill, London NW7 1QU, UK – 020 8959 5998

Cheeky Chums Day Nurseries Edgware

South Parade, 41-42 Mollison Way, Edgware HA8 5QL, UK – 020 8952 6131

I first came across Cheeky Chums Edgware in 2011 and have since sent all 3 of my children there. A spacious, warm, welcoming nursery with such wonderful staff that have helped develop the confidence in my children. My children were each assigned a key person and you have regular meetings to discuss their development. Regular online observations help keep you informed of your child's progress. There are parent newsletters and they involve parents in activities held throughout the year. My youngest is due to finish this Summer term and we will both miss Cheeky Chums very much. Thank you to all the staff for all your hard work.

Since joining Cheeky Chums Nursery, a year ago, my son has bloomed and developed in so many positive ways – such as his understanding, listening and language skills. He enjoys going to nursery and has developed a close bond with his carers who are experienced, caring and professional and whom the children respond well to. My son is a particularly fussy eater and his carers have successfully encouraged him to eat his lunch and tea on a daily basis. Cheek Chums Nursery has also taken the time to understand his other needs and have worked with him and as such he has flourished into a confident happy young boy. What more could I ask for! My son starts school in September and he will take with him fond memories of Cheeky Chums. My daughter, 20 months, will continue attending the nursery until she is old enough to start school – she too has flourished since attending the nursery and is also very happy and content. Needless to say I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery to other parents and have complete confidence and peace of mind with the staff when dropping of my children at the start of each day.

Public & Preparatory Schools

North London Collegiate School

Canons Dr, Edgware HA8 7RJ, UK – 020 8952 0912

My daughter has been at the school since reception and is about to go into year 8. It is an absolutely oustanding school on every single count. Academically it's second to none but the same goes for all the extra curricular activities too. Drama, Art, Music and everything else you can think of are done with the same enthusiasm and professionalism and dedication as the work on the academic curriculum.

Fabulous school. One of the best in the country. Can't understand 1 stars. Probably didn't get in!

London Brookes College

Burroughs House, 42 The Burroughs, London NW4 4AP, UK – 020 8202 2007

As a parent that had struggled with my son’s A-level education, I was relieved to find London Brookes College. It was the only College that offered what my son needed. They helped him prepare for two A-levels and one AS in one year. I must say that I found the staff very, very friendly in all departments who really went out of their way to help him with his unique needs. Needless to say, the teachers were excellent and always approachable. With the college support as well as support from home, my son’s life has completely turned around. He was deemed a failure by a state school and was told to do an apprenticeship which made him very depressed. Thanks to London Brookes College he is now completely transformed child and extremely happy to get a place at a very good university. I found the fees to be quite reasonable and flexible in terms of the level of support you need and can afford. Certainly worth every penny. THANK YOU ALL AT LONDON BROOKS COLLEDGE. Eternally Grateful Parent.

My experience at London Brookes College has been one of a kind. Initially, upon my arrival to the college I was nervous about meeting new friends, building relationships with my new teachers and simply 'fitting in'. However, the college allowed me to feel comfortable and confident immediately. Personally speaking, this college has amazing English and Politics teachers who explain concepts to the depth, my English teachers provided me with all the resources needed to achieve the best grade possible. In addition to this, my politics teacher was able to elaborate and explain complicated current affairs in detail, giving me a broader understanding in the world of politics - I even managed to attend the House of Lords 4 times this year based on a programme which I was put on.

Park High School

Thistlecroft Gardens, Stanmore HA7 1PL, UK – 020 8952 2803

When I came to park high in year 7 I was anxious and I thought I would be bullied. However, I settled in very well and even though there were a few bullying incidents, the teachers put a stop to it really quick. Everything works so well in the school and the teachers are really helpful. The food in the canteen is really nice and there are also so many options on what to choose. The only problem is that a very small minority of students can get a little bit rude, but I know that if a person who is being bullied and they tells a teacher, then it will be dealt with very quickly. But overall I personally think it is a very good school.

When I came to Park High School, I liked it at first and the teachers are mostly friendly, but in Year 9, school got a lot worse for me. Bullying doesn't stop despite teachers' efforts and some of the students are horrible. A lot are good but some are racist and generally very rude. Some teachers have their issues but in fairness they are decent. Ever since year 9, I wanted to move back to my homeland Serbia. Здраво дал ли разумете! I know it's sad that I want out but I don't want to be in this country and the school reflects my feelings on England in general. But if anyone in my year is reading this, guys, it isn't your fault. Well not most of yas anyway. And teachers reading this, I know it's hard working in a school, my cousin works in a school where the kids are only 7 years old and their parents and themselves are all (mostly) dyslexic and there is very strict security. I know you try your best but at the end of the day, England hasn't been very nice to me and the school hasn't really been much nicer. Of course, there is always a shining light though, because if there wasn't, I would give only a star. Many students can be very kind and teachers like Mr Sellar, Mr Wright and many others are great teachers. Also, I like how some teachers and pupils take the effort to understand me and make me feel better about life. But at the end of the day, it is too much stress for me to cope with to carry on at this school and moving away from all my troubles is the best solution.
